Worked from home for the last two weeks. One of the perks of being your own boss. Downside being I’m in the same room 24/7 and it gets tiring. Decided to go wandering around Mita this evening and take a few candid shots. Photography gives me a release from a lot of daily pressures. It almost feels like I’m living a double life. I’ve always enjoyed film noir and old detective flicks, I like to imagine myself hiding around corners, trying to catch that moment where the suspect is making their quiet escape, or planning their big heist. Sounds crazy, I know. Maybe it is, but I like giving myself a concept to run with, rather than just aiming the thing all over the place and shooting it off at anything that moves.

I’ve been meaning to upload this series for a while, you can see them all here. I love the troubled looks on all of their faces. I don’t know what exactly propels them, but it wouldn’t surprise me should it turn out to be some otherworldly force.

I took these shots during Andrews bachelor party. Out of the entire theme park, during our few hours of attendance, these things were entirely ignored. I didn’t see a single child sit on them. I wonder if their appearance of perpetual sorrow worked as a sort of deterrence. Needless to say, their exotic shapes attracted me and so I took their portraits.
