Since joining Flickr about two years back I’ve been steadily following other members, trying to find a niche that I could flow with and get into. Cinematography has lately drawn me in quite deeply. I find my eye fishing around my surroundings for the next frame of a story I’m telling with photography. Wong Kar Wai and classic Hong Kong mafia films deeply inspire me. Having grown up watching them, finding the same colors in the world around me revitalizes memories of those films. There’s one music video though that I think a lot of people missed, or maybe everyone’s seen it and I’m only imagining that no one knows about it. Futureshock’s “Late at Night” music video is just brilliant, it’s style is just definitive of cinematography and almost feels as though still cinematographic shots are brought to life rather than the other way around.
